The Rules
2-PERSON AMBROSE FORMAT
The City N Country is an 18-hole, 2-person amateur Stroke ambrose series.
Both players must have a valid Golf Australia handicap to qualify for the Grand Final.
The team handicap is calculated by combining both players' GA handicaps and dividing by 4, then rounding to the nearest whole number.
8 Tee Shots Each
Each player must have a minimum of 8 tee shots used during the 18 holes.
The player whose drive is used must be recorded on the scorecard for each hole.
No Gimmies
There are no gimmies — every putt must be holed.
When putting, always mark your ball before your partner has their opportunity to putt.
You cannot tap your ball into the hole before your partner has putted.
Lift, Clean & Place
Players may lift, clean and place their ball before each shot.
- Mark the ball before lifting.
- Place within one scorecard length of the marker.
- The ball must not be placed closer to the hole.
- The ball must remain on the same playing surface.
For example, a ball in the rough must remain in the rough.
Play Ready Golf
Play Ready Golf, keep up with the group ahead and enjoy the day without unnecessarily delaying play.
All players must also follow the local golf club rules and event conditions.
Scorecards
Each team must have its scorecard completed correctly, including recording whose tee shot was used.
At the completion of the round, scorecards must be signed and verified by the nominated marker.
Tied Results — Playoffs Only
There are no countbacks for 1st Place.
If teams finish with the same net score, they will go into a playoff to determine the winner. City N Country committee will explain the format from the designated 80m playoff hole.
City N Country Committee
Any rules or scoring disputes will be reviewed by the City N Country Tournament Committee.
All decisions made by the Committee are final.
